About
Ai began playing piano and electronic organ at Yamaha Music School at age three, later songwriting and playing keyboard in a high school pop/rock band. She earned her degree in Classical Piano Performance with a minor in Vocal Accompaniment from Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, Japan.After working as a pianist and instructor in Tokyo, she attended Berklee College of Music on multiple scholarships, majoring in Professional Music (Performance and Contemporary Writing & Production) and graduating in 2017.For the next five years, Ai freelanced as a pianist/keyboardist across New England, performing with wedding bands, Latin groups, church services, and solo piano lounge gigs. As the leader of "Ai’s Sakura Band," she toured major East Coast cities (Boston, NYC, DC) and performed at prominent Japanese cultural and cherry blossom festivals drawing up to 60,000 attendees. She has released two solo albums (I am Ai, Ai’s Singin’) and the single “We Are ALL Friends!” for the Music for SDGs project. Additionally, in 2021, she composed her first musical score for “Otonano Ehon no Tsukurikata” (Issa Production) in Japan.Since 2023, Ai has been traveling the world as a Music Director and Orchestra Musician for Royal Caribbean International, performing in Broadway-style musical productions and big bands.
